Mr. Albert N. Olness, 82 year old Peterson resident, passed away on Friday evening, March 17^th at the Winona General Hospital, where he had been a patient for four months.

Mr. Olness was born in Rushford township on February 9, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Olness. He was baptized and confirmed at Arendahl by the lat Rev. Arne Boyum. He lived in the Peterson area all his life and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

One December 9, 1914, he was united in marriage to Alice Bye of Peterson, who preceded him in death in 1945.

He is survived by one son, Arland, of Peterson; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Sylvia) Riebau of Winona; two brothers, Ole of Peterson, and Marin, of Bremerton, Washington; on e sister, Mrs. Bertha Haslerud of Peterson; two grandchildren, Dawn and Douglas Olness of Peterson; and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 22^nd at 2:00 P. M. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, with Pastor James W. Asp officiating. Pastor Asp spoke on "A Rest For God's People", taken from Hebrews 4:9-11. Granville Kjos sang two numbers. "Den Store Hvide Flok" and "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name". Interment was made in the church cemetery.

The pall bearers were John Olness, Ole Olness, Norman Olness, all of Peterson, Conrad Olness of La Crosse, Sterling Olness of Brookings, South Dakota, and Orville Strande of Winona.

Albert married Alice Amanda BYE, daughter of Ole P. BYE and Bergitte, on 9 Dec 1914 in Rushford, Fillmore County, MN. (Alice Amanda BYE was born on 8 Sep 1889 in Peterson, Fillmore County, MN and died on 10 Feb 1945 in Wabasha County, MN ³.) The cause of her death was TB.
