Albert G. Haslerud, 77 year old resident of Peterson and Rushford, passed away last Thursday morning at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. He had been in port health for the past several years.

Mrs. Haslerud, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Haslerud, was born on May 1, 1884, in Peterson. He grew to manhood there and went into partnership with two brothers in the Peterson Hardware Store. He was associated in the store for 40 years. Following the death of his two brothers and the sale of the store, he retired from business life, and six years ago moved to Rushford where he had made his home since.

In 1901, he was united in marriage to Miss Esther Larson, the ceremony taking place in Rushford. Surviving besides his wife are six sons: Walter of Centralia, Washington; Francis of Rushford; Daniel of South St. Paul; Glen of Duluth; Milton of Minneapolis; and Paul, with the U.S. Navy and stationed at Norfolk, Virginia; two daughters: Mrs. A. J. (Ethel) Clark of Minneapolis, and Mrs. William Ungerman of Baltimore, Maryland. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren.

Albert married Esther Pauline LARSON, daughter of Peder Larsen FOSSUM and Birgitte NELSON, in Feb 1911 in Fillmore County, MN. (Esther Pauline LARSON was born on 2 Oct 1894 in Vestre Aker, Akershus, Norway ², baptized on 28 Oct 1894 in Vestre Aker, Akershus, Norway ² and died on 13 Mar 1972 in Winona County, MN ³.)

  Noted events in their marriage were:

• Marriage Notice: from THE HERALD (Peterson), 1911, Fillmore County, MN. Last Saturday evening at 8 o'clock occurred the marriage of Albert Haslerud of this place and Miss Esther Larson of Rushford. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents, Rev. Geo. Stanley performing the ceremony. While the bride is a stranger to the people of Peterson, we learn that she is it general favorite with her acquaintances. The groom is too well known to our readers to need an introduction, having been born and raised in this village, and is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Haslerud. They will. reside in Peterson. THE HERALD joins with their many friends in wishing them a long and happy life.
