Mrs. Hedlund was born Aug 11, 1894, in Guthrie, the daughter of David and Celia Ryerson Cooper. She was married to Lee Poplett, Dec 28, 1917. He died April 7, 1942. She was then married to Carl A Hedlund Nov 22 1952, in Gibson City (Illinois).

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs Cecelia Anderson, Gibson City; a half-brother, Wayne Cooper and half-sister, Mrs Alta Dixon, both of Orlando, Fla.; a step-daughter, Mrs Audrey Scott, Columbia, MO; a step-son, Arthur Hedlund, Neenah, Wis., and three grandchildren.

She was a life-long resident of the Guthrie-Gibson City communities. • Notes. David Cooper, her father, married Celia Ryerson, who died shortly after the birth of her daughter, Lelah. The Ryerson grandparents (Christian G & Isabel Knudson Ryerson) and their daughters cared for Lelah until her marriage to Lee Poplett in 1917. After her marriage her Aunt Sarah Ryerson spent much of her time with them. They lived on the Fox farm for a few years then moved to the North 80 in Section 19, North of Guthrie, Illinois, which Mr. Poplett purchased from J.M Miner (bank failure). A house was moved there and fixed up for them. Lee died on 7 April 1942. Lelah held a sale that fall and went to Kokomo, Indiana with her daughter Cecelia, a nurse, and lived for a time with the Aunts who had raised her and lived there at the time. Cecelia married Don Anderson while he was in the service in World War II. They have three children: Patricia, Sandra, and Roger and live on the Miner homestead now owned by Carl Hedlund. His first wife, Mae Miner had passed away in July 1943. Lelah Poplett and Don & Cecelia and their family had moved in with Carl after the house on the North 80 burn down in 1947. Carl had teased Don about having two cooks and he had none as a reason for the family to move in with him after the house fire.

Lelah Cooper Poplett had returned to care for her husband, Lee's mother, Mrs. Anna Mae Poplett after her husband, Wiley J. Poplett's death in 1945. On11/22/1952 she married Carl Hedlund and they purchased a home in Gibson City on North Melvin Street.

David Cooper married Jennie Dueringer in 1902. They went to Orlando, Florida to live. He passed away in 1929 & Jennie in 1958. They had two children: Wayne and Alta.
