Carrie Dirks
PAXTON, ILL. - Carrie Ann Dirks, 98, Paxton, Ill., formerly of Howard County, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the Ford County Nursing Home, here. She had been ill for one week.
Born Jan. 11, 1877, in Ford County, Ill., she was the daughter of Christian G. and Isabelle (Knudson) Ryerson. In 1919, she married George Dirks, who died in 1968.
She had been a resident of Howard County from 1931 to 1960 and a resident of Burlington from 1960 to 1972 and had been a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church. She had lived in Paxton for the past three years.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington, with the Rev. Ralph Karstedt and the Rev. Henry J. Dirks officiating. Burial will be in the South Union Cemetery in Howard County.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
