John B. Ryerson, 78, Cornell, died Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Livingston County Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
His funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randell K. Perry of the Cornell Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cornell Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Ryerson was born July 17, 1895, in Livingston County, a son of Louis and Nettie (Bruce) Ryerson. He was educated in rural schools. He was married to Mabel Beaman at Cornell Jan. 10, 1917. For many years he was a painter and had been retired the past 15 years.
He was a member of the Cornell United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife,; a son, John L. Ryerson, Pontiac; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Rasmussen, Pontiac, and Mrs. Laura London, Venice, Fla.; a brother, Thomas, Odell; two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
The family suggests memorials to the Cornell United Methodist Church.
