Judith Strande, 79, of Rushford, and formerly of St. Charles, died Wednesday morning (Oct. 5, 1988) in her Rushford apartment.
She was born Sept. 29, 1909, in North Prairie area to Andrew and Julia Bakken Olness.
She married Orville Strande on Aug. 25, 1945; he died in Jan 1975.
She was a graduate of Rushford High School and Winona Teachers College. She had also lived in Winona and Rochester.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of St. Charles, where she was active in the ladies' groups at the church.
She taught in the Fillmore County schools for 15 years. She also worked in numerous secretarial positions in Winona and Rochester. She served as secretary at St. Matthew's for nine years.
Survivors include one sister, Selma Haslerud of Rushford, and nieces and nephews.
Two brothers have died.
Services were Oct. 10 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, St. Charles, the Rev. Donald Lutz officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles.
Judith married Orville Andrew STRANDE, son of Ole Ludwig STRANDE and Aletta GUTTORMSON, on 25 Aug 1945 in Winona County, MN.1 (Orville Andrew STRANDE was born on 6 Oct 1909 in Fillmore County, MN 4 and died on 3 Jan 1975 in Olmsted County, MN 5.) The cause of his death was heart attack.
