Mrs. John Olness
PETERSON, Minn. -- Mrs. John Olness, 83, Peterson, died Sunday morning at Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of the Peterson area, she was born Bertha Hermanson Oct. 9, 1882 in Fremont Township, the daughter of the late John and Magnild Hermanson.
She married John Olness June 12, 1907 at North Prairie. He survives.
She is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Peterson.
Survivors include two sons, Manvel, Chatfield, and Maynard, Winona, three daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Berdine) Highum, Peterson, Mrs. Palmer (Olive) Peterson, and Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Moran, both of Rushford, a brother Martin Hermanson, Winona and step-brother, Henry Johnson, Winona, a sister, Mrs. Marie Swanson, Owen, Wis., 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Peterson, the Rev. James Asp officiating. Burial will be in East Grace Cemetery, Peterson
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jensen Funeral Home, Rushford, and at the church after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Bertha married John L. OLNESS, son of Lars Olssen ØLNES and Magrethe Nelson HYLDESGARD, on 12 Jun 1907 in Winona County, MN.1 (John L. OLNESS was born on 13 Jan 1883 in Fillmore County, MN 3, baptized in Arendahl and died on 28 Oct 1966 in Winona County, MN 4.)
