MALONE, Sybel G. (Larson)

Born December 17, 1914. Passed away July 13, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2002. She is survived by her children, Eileen Lyons of Spokane, Charles and Michelle Malone of Spokane, and Harvey Malone of Mukilteo, WA. Sybel, youngest of twelve, was born in rural Ward County, North Dakota to Norwegian immigrant parents Julia and Christopher Larson. She moved to Spokane and married Bill Malone in 1941. They lived in the same home for 68 years. Sybel had an inquiring mind, was an avid reader, a gardener and an energetic baker - at one time professionally. Fresh bread and cinnamon rolls were her specialty. In addition to family, she loved Cannon Beach, multiple cats, the Spokane Public Library and poetry. Family will gather for a memorial service on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Thanks go to Hospice of Spokane and several caregivers who provided excellent care for Sybel.
