• Obituary: Winnipeg Free Press, 2008, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. GORDON FELDMANN

GORDON M. FELDMANN 1922 2008 A remarkable man left us at Deer Lodge Centre in the early morning of November 4, 2008. A devoted husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandfather (or Big Grandpa ), Gordon will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Kane), daughters, Dianne Johnson and husband Bryce (Calgary), Linda Miller (Calgary), Sheila Psoch and husband George (Portage la Prairie), five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, all from Calgary, and his sister Marj MacLellan of Flin Flon. Predeceased by his parents, Clara and Edwin Feldmann, Gordon was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan and later moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba. He began his working life there and eventually worked in Toronto and later in Chalk River. In 1942 he joined the RCAF and graduated as a wireless operator Air Gunner. Two years later he was posted to Europe where he completed his training on Lancaster bombers. In 1945 Gordon enrolled at the University of Manitoba graduating in Civil Engineering in 1952. He worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting from 1951 to 1957 and then joined Manitoba Hydro where he completed his career as Project Manager for the Long Spruce Generating Station and the latter part of the Kettle Generating Station. Gordon was a member of the Flin Flon Kinsmen Club as well as Bowling Governor of the Winnipeg Winter Club. He was respected for his gentle and caring nature by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a nature you could not help loving And a heart that was purer than gold And to those who knew him and loved him His memory will never grow cold The family wishes to express appreciation to Wayne Pearson for his caring support to our family over the past few years. We also extend our appreciation to the staff of the 3rd floor west at Deer Lodge Centre. Their care and continual display of kindness and respect could not go unnoticed. We referred to them as the fine tuned caring machine where no area of detailing for the care of Dad was missed. Dad, you finally have found your peace after a restless ten years of inner turmoil Goodnight and God Bless You If friends so wish donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, 10-120 Donald Street Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2, or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
