• Obituary, 2008, North Dakota, USA. Dale A. Braddock, 75 of Hettinger, ND, formerly of Reeder, ND died onThursday, April 24, 2008 at the West River Medical Center in Hettinger.

Funeral Services for Dale will be on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Reeder, ND. Pastor Stephanie Swanson will officiate with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Reeder.

Dale Allen Braddock was born July 4, 1932. He received his education in Reeder, ND where he graduated from Reeder High School in 1950. When Dale was a young man, he worked for his uncle raking hay. He then worked for Victor Nester for two summers and then helped Quentin Oase for one year.

In 1953, the US Army said to come and join them. After boot camp, he went home and married his high school sweetheart Ruby Ann Oase. The Army moved them to Alaska for seventeen months. They moved back to North Dakota and lived in Williston where Dale worked at the elevator. In 1959 he and the family moved back to Reeder, ND where he joined his brother, Cecil, took over the Braddock Chevrolet garage from their father Frank.

Dale spent three years as the Scoutmaster for the local Boy Scout Troup. Dale was an active member of the American Legion and Forty Et Eight. (check spelling) Dale was a member of the Reeder Volunteer Fire Department. He also spent two years on the Reeder School Board.

In 1979 they quit the garage and began farming full time at the Martin Boe farm. They sold the farm in 1999 and Dale started fishing full-time. In April 2007, Dale spent time at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where he received two new valves for his heart. He spent time in the nursing home in Bowman, ND where he received physical therapy and learned to use a walker and wheel chair. He returned home to Reeder in August 2007. In October of 2007, Dale and Ruby Ann moved to Hettinger, ND, where they have since made their home.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Frank G. and Elsie (Anderson) Braddock, and one son, Keith Allan Braddock. Dale is survived by his wife, Ruby Ann (Oase) Braddock, one son, Russell Braddock of Tucson, AZ, one daughter, Norma Braddock of Bismarck, ND, one brother, Cecil Braddock of Reeder, ND and one sister, Mona Ann Peterson of Cascade, ID. Dale is also survived by five grandchildren, Becky (Braddock) Hanrahan of Ft. Stevens, WA, Harry Braddock of Stanley, ND, Lisa (Braddock) Lappi (Germany), Christopher Braddock of Morehead, MN, and Shonda (Braddock) DeSplinter of Tooele, Utah, and nine great grandchildren.
