Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2004 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Mildred E. Trangsrud, age 92 of Sauk Rapids and formerly of Wimbledon, ND. Friends may call after 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home.
Mildred was born on December 8, 1911 in Clearwater, Minnesota to Hans and Anna (Faa) Blastervold. Mildred grew up in Clearwater and moved to Valley City, ND graduating from Valley City High School and Valley City State Teachers College. She taught in Burnstad, SD and Wimbledon, ND. Mildred married Ralph C. Trangsrud on June 2, 1940 in Norman Lutheran Church, Kindred, ND. Mildred lived in Wimbledon, ND from 1939 until moving to St. Cloud in 1991. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wimbledon, ND, and Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.
Mildred was a very avid reader and writer and was a crewlwork artist.
Mildred is survived by her children, Jane Moen of Waite Park, and Jon (Terry) Trangsrud of Orono; grandchildren, Cullen and Camille Trangsrud of Orono, Taylor (Brian) Sullivan of Arlington, VA, Preston (Dana) Bultema of St. Cloud, Kjirsten Snyder of CA, Tammy Trangsrud of St. Paul, and Jeffry Trangsrud of AZ; seven great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Gayle Greshik; son, Thomas Trangsrud; three brothers and four sisters.
