He was born May 15, 1931, in Vance Creek Township to John and Katherine (Podany) Leschisin. He served in the United States Army from 1949-1953.
He married Shirley Schrage at Zion Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, on June 4, 1955. He worked in the creamery as a buttermaker. He also worked at a feed mill, dairy farm, Hartzell's, Turtle Lake, and Wisconsin Dairies, Clayton.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Jena (Scott) Orf of Turtle Lake, Laura (Kurt) Abramson of New Richmond and Susan (Mike) Quaranta of Eau Claire; a son, Joseph (Angie) of Turtle Lake; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Landon, Collin and Carter, Abby Kelsie, Leah and Alyssa, Luke, Peter, Alaina, John and Anna; sisters, Katherine Dzubay of Minneapolis, Minn., Olga Leschisin of New Hope, Minn., and Ann (Loren) Hovila of Bemidji, Minn.; and brothers, John (Val) of Minneapolis and Bill (Jane) of Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; an infant sister; sisters, Helen and Mary; and a brother, George.
Services held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, from Parkview United Methodist Church, Turtle Lake, Rev. Mike Carlson officiating, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Turtle Lake. Military honors were accorded by Donalds-Hylkema Post #37 American Legion of Turtle Lake.
Pallbearers were Greg Leschisin, Ken Leschisin, Rick Leschisin, Dave Leschisin, John Leschisin, Scott Orf, Kurt Abramson and Michael Quaranta.
Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, handled arrangements.
