• Notes, 1814. In 1814, Asgaut was a delegate to Eidsvoll to help write the Norwegian constitution.

• Reference: wikipedia. Asgaut Olsen Regelstad (born 1761 in Finnøy, Rogaland, died 1847) was envoy to the National Assembly at Eidsvoll in spring 1814.

Regelstad was a farmer at Reilstad in Finnøy. He was sheriff of Finnøy 1816-1823, assistant pastor, Settlement Commissioner and he sat in the school commission and poor Commission.

In Eidsvoll, he was the only farmer from Stavanger amt. He made little of himself in the debates, but he listened to those who would legislate both inheritance law and åsetesretten, and he supported a proposal to sell the church goods (the legal aid goods). He belonged to the independence party of Eidsvoll 1814.
