PONTIAC - Maurine A. Cox, 88, formerly of R.R. 3, Pontiac, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 27, 1994) at the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, the Rev. James T. Lehmann and the Rev. Ronald Kruger officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac.

Mrs. Cox was born Jan. 27, 1906, in Amity Township, rural Pontiac, a daughter of John and Clara Ryerson Carlson. She married Edward Cox July 21, 1928, at Pontiac. He died April 12, 1990.

Survivors include one son, Ronald, Pontiac; one daughter, Claire Eichelberger, El Paso; one sister, Evelyn Lidroth, Mountain Home, Ark.; one brother, Gilman Carlson, Manhattan, Kan.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cox attended Amity Township Grade School and Pontiac Township High School.

She was a former 4-H leader, and taught piano for more than 50 years, teaching many Pontiac area students.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac; the Anna Society of the church; and Rooks Creek Home.

Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan, or the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac.
