Mr. A. P. Haselrud [Haslerud] Died At Peterson

Andrew P. Haselrud passed away on Friday, Oct. 16^th, at 12:30 A. M., at his home in Peterson

He was the only surviving child of Peterson's first settlers, Peterson Peterson Haslerud, who came here in 1853, and his wife, Cornelia Anderson Haslerud. Mr. Haslerud was born in Peterson on Jan. 15^th, 1855, thus reaching the age of 87 years and 9 months.

One Sept. 28^th 1878 he married Gertrude Ensberg at a double weeding. The other participants were Maria Haselrud and John Ensberg. Mrs. Haslerud died July 26^th, 1941. The operated a farm on North Prairie until 1917, when they settled and build a home in Peterson.

Mr. Haslerud is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Helom (Emma) of Ruso, N. R., and tow sons, Oliver of Peterson, and Edwin of Fargo, N. Dak. There are also eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three of the children, Ina, Alfred, and Archie, preceded him in death.

Funeral service were conducted on Monday afternoon at the Peterson Lutheran church of which he had been a life-long member, with Rev. A. I. Kvamme officiated. Short talks were also given by the Rev. H. Rydland and the Rev. A. H. Melon, and special music was furnish[ed] by Misses Ida and Cleonra Hjelle and Mrs. J. P. Quickstad.

The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased, Oscar Ensberg, J. G. Haslerud, Edwin and Arthur Halvorson, and Orin and Elbert Agrimson.

Those from out of town in attendance were: Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Melom, Ruso, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Haslerud and family, Fargo, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moen, La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Halvorson and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Halvorson, Mable, Miss Clara Reishus, Mrs. C. O. Johnson, Mrs. Oscar Asleson, Mrs. M. O. Kjos, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Schwager and Carl Kjos of Rushford and many of the former neighbors and friends of North Prairie.

Andrew married Gjertrud Olesdatter ENSBERG, daughter of Ole Engebretsen ENSBERG and Johanne Evensdatter ESPELIEN, on 28 Sep 1878 in Arendahl, Fillmore County, MN.¹ (Gjertrud Olesdatter ENSBERG was born on 29 Aug 1857 in Nordre Land, Oppland, Norway ⁵, baptized on 18 Oct 1857 in Nordre Land, Oppland, Norway ⁵ and died on 26 Jun 1941 in Fillmore County, MN ⁶.)
