Mr. Kenneth Alva Emerson passed away Wednesday morning, April 17, 2013, in a local nursing home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Livingston, to Alva W. and Henrietta E. (Ifft) Emerson. He attended schools in Livingston, graduating high school there and earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Montana State University.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and following his discharge returned to Livingston where he married Mable May Wood on July 24, 1945. They moved to Butte in 1950 and he owned and operated S. J. Perry for over 25 years.

Mr. Emerson is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel in 1992; his parents; and a brother, Bruce W. Emerson.

Survivors include his daughter, Judy Wright of Butte; son and daughter-in-law, Alva W. and Elizabeth Emerson of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Saffron Emerson Bronen of Minnesota, Erin Emerson Egginaton of Minneapolis, Christopher and Honey Wright of West Point, Utah, Cory and Amanda Wright of Herriman, Utah, Colby and Misty Wright of Mapelton, Utah, Cameron and Miranda Wright of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Cappy and Clay Dennert of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and no local services are planned at this time.

Memorials: charity of the donor's choice.
