MRS. A. K. NELSON, 75, WELL KNOWN RESIDENT OF EMMETSBURG, DIES

Emmetsburg, Nov. 16 - Mrs. A. K. Nelson, 75, well known Emmetsburg resident, died of a heart attack Tuesday at her home here. She had suffered a stroke two weeks ago.

Funeral arrangements, in charge of the Foy funeral home, are incomplete pending word from a daughter, Mrs. Robert Burns, the former Alma Nelson, of El Sobrante, Calif. Rites, however, will be held at the Depew Lutheran church near Emmetsburg with the Rev. C. H. Johnson of Bethany Lutheran church here and the Rev. Mr. Gilbertson of Depew officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery here.

Mrs. Nelson, the former Malinda Hoversten, was born Oct. 26, 1874, in Steward, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knute Hoversten.

On July 5, 1894, she married A. K. Nelson at Rockford, Ill., and in 1900 they moved to Palo Alto county. After her husband's death 29 years ago, Mrs. Nelson moved to Emmetsburg.

She is survived by nine children; Norman of Ostrander, Minn.; Charles, Theodore and Selmer of Cylinder; Bert of Willmar, Minn.; Mrs. Anna Mitchell of Lonerock; Mrs. Charles Coons, the former Clara Nelson, of Anoka, Minn.; Mrs. Robert Burns of El Sobrante, Calif.; and Mrs. Ross Johnson, the former Mae Nelson, of Emmetsburg.

Another daughter, Mrs. Ella Sampson, died in 1926 and Mrs. Nelson reared her son, Ellsworth Sampson, who is now studying in Chicago.

Other survivors include 28 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Thomas Hoversten of Alden; Chris Hoversten of Williams; Elias Hoversten of Lynd, Minn.; and Emanuel Hoversten, Gifford.
