Louis F. Larson, pioneer resident of the Hettinger community passed away at his home here at 5 o'clock Tuesday Dec 22, 1936, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 2 days. He had been ill for 2 years and his death was caused by cancer.
Lewis Larson was born in Peterson, MN on Jan 20, 1861. He came to North Dakota in 1906 and took up homesteading in this vicinity and his family moved out here that same fall. he has been a resident here since that time, with the exception of three years spent in Anoka, MN.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, three sons, three sisters, 4 brothers, and 15 grandchildren.
One daughter and 3 sons preceded him in death. Members of his immediate family are Mrs. Alfred Johnson of Bucyrus, Mrs. Harry Otos of Hettinger, Fred of Cumberland, MD and Clayton and Harry of Bucyrus
Funeral will be held today at the Lutheran Church with t he Rev E. Leland Rude officer. The pall bearers will be M. P. Quickstad, WM. Evenson, JJ Klein, Chris Hanson, Carl Dahl, and Sam Johnson.
Lars married Mary A TIPPERY, daughter of Amos TIPPERY and Lucinda Abbigal SANDLIN, on 10 Apr 1884 in Houston County, MN.1 (Mary A TIPPERY was born about 1860 and died about 1894.)
Lars next married Bertha Marie VALEBY, daughter of Johannes Christiansen VALEBY and Julia HOFF, in 1898. (Bertha Marie VALEBY was born on 25 Mar 1869 in Gran, Oppland, Norway and died on 2 Oct 1947 in Bucyrus, Adams County, ND 3.)
