Gert was born to Gilbert S. and Gina (Dregmundson) Woxland September 18, 1916 at her parent's house in Rushford, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Rushford Lutheran Church.
She married Myron John Forsythe of Houston, MN November 28, 1935. They farmed near Houston their first years of marriage. In 1938 they moved to Rushford, MN where her husband was employed by G.S. Woxland Co. and later became a partner in 1951. Gert sold Avon products from the late 1940's until the late 1950's. In the mid 1960's she was employed by Rushford Lutheran Church as its secretary until her husband's retirement in 1981.
Gert is survived by two sons, Robert M. Forsythe of Rushford, MN and David A. (Maryann Gunderson) Forsythe of Winona, MN; 4 grandchildren: Janelle L. (Steven) Medrud of Redwood Falls, MN; Deborah L. (Delbert [Pete]) Kahoun of rurul Rushford, MN; Suzanne J. (Scott) Roberts of Winona, MN; and DeAnne C. (Mark) Forsythe-Moline of Winona, MN; 9 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Lorraine) Woxland of Rushford, MN.
Gert was preceded in death by her husband, Myron, her parents, two brothers Sydney (Syd) Woxland and Gerhard (Gilly) Woxland, and two sisters Judy (Adolf) Bremmer and Kathryn (Arthur) Thoreson.
Visitation will be held at Rushford Lutheran Church one-hour prior to the funeral service
