Genevieve A. Wethe, age 85, of La Crosse, died in the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Home on Sunday, December 14, 1997. She was born in La Crosse on June 11, 1912 to Frederick and Meta (Merman) Miller. She had married C. Burton Wethe and he preceded her in death in 1955. She was an executive with the Riverland Girl Scout Council from 1949 to 1976. She was a past Sunday school superintendent, retired teacher, a member of the Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary, Zonta, Shrine Auxiliary. She was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Burton of Brookfield, Wis.; a grandson, Troy; a sister, Betty Cloves of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a niece, Betsy (Michael) Slagle of Fort Wayne.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 11 a.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church. The Reverend Dr. Larry Moody will officiate. The Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home, La Crosse, is assisting with arrangements.
Genevieve married Cecil Burton WETHE, son of Carl Johansen WETHE and Beattie JOHNSON. (Cecil Burton WETHE was born on 27 Dec 1907 in Jackson County, MN 1 and died in 1955.)
