• Obituary: Barkdull Funeral Home, 2010, OH. Dorothy M. Cahill, age 77, resident of Park Village, Shelby died Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home. Born March 7, 1933 in Raven, Kentucky to John and Zola (Gibson) Craft she had been a Shelby resident since 1963. She was a former employee of the Ratliff Nursing Home and retired from Crestwood Care Center following 20 years of service. Dorothy was a born again Christian who attended the Taylortown Community Church. She enjoyed baking and gardening, but most of all, spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Joe Cahill whom she wed May 28,1988; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Nancy Cains of Mansfield; two stepsons, Todd (Barb) Bailey of KYand Butch Bailey of IN; four stepdaughters, Debbie, Vicki and Joanie all of Indiana and Sheila (Todd) Heiberger of Sandusky; three grandchildren, Amanda Cains of TN, Joshua Cains of Shelby and Kimberly Cains of Columbus; two step grandchildren Nathan and Emily Hieberger of Sandusky; two sisters Lorraine Whisler of Shelby and Patty (Janon) Coburn of Garrett, KY; two brothers, James Craft of Lackey, KY and Tommy (Verda) Craft of Garrett, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, dear friend, Shirley Conley and best friend, Sharon James. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tinsley Cains, one son Ronnie, D. Cains, stepson, Wayne Cahill, sister Pearline Slone and brother Worley Craft. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday April 8, 2010 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend O. Douglas Tackett will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Taylortown Community Church.
