• Land, 1745, Louisa County, VA. He purchased 320 acres in Louisa County and he and his wife Susanna sold 90 acres in Louisa County to William Donathan by deeds proved on 26 March 1745.

• Court, 1745, Louisa County, VA. He was presented by the court on 28 May 1745 for concealing a tithable who was probably his wife.

VA "Ordered that William Hall, Samuel Collins, Thomas Collins, William Collins, Samuel Bunch, George Gibson, Benjamin Branham, Thomas Gibson, and William Donathan be summoned to appear at the next Court to answer the presentment of the Grand jury this day made against them for concealing tithables within twelve months past."

Louisa County Virginia Order Bk 1766-1772, P 223----Aug. 20, 1768

• Court, 1769, Louisa County, VA. On 14 August 1769 he and Nathan Gibson were brought into court for riotous behavior. George was found not guilty, but Nathan was required to give security for his good behavior for one year.

• Court, 1770, Louisa County, VA. George Gibson vs Sarah Gibson and Gideon Gibson.
In Chancery. It is decreed the complainant has a right of fee simple in 200 acres of land but leave is given to the infants of Gilbert Gibson deceased when they come of legal age to claim their right.

• Court, 1792, Louisa County, VA. Gidion Gibson and Jordane Gibson plaintiffs against George Gibson, Benjamin Branham and Robert Michie defendants. In Chancery. On the motion of the Plaintiffs by their counsel for leave to amend their bill by inserting the following words to wit "Sarah Gibson widow and relict of Gilbert Gibson deceased and William Gibson son and devisee of said Gilbert Gibson deceased" which was granted them and the amendment made accordingly and the Cause is continued 'till the next term at the Plaintiff's Costs with leave for either party to take the Depositions of such Witnesses as they shall think fit on giving the adverse party legal notice of time and place of taking such Depositions.

I, George Gibson of Louisa county have thought proper to make and ordain this my last will and testament.

In the first place I wish all my just debts to be paid by my sons William, Gilbert & Lightfoot and my daughter Catharine, each of them paying an equal proportion of them as they will be my principal legatees in this my last will.

I give to my sons and daughters Patty, Sally, Betsy, John, Nathan, & Ambrose one shilling sterling each to them and their heirs forever.

I give to my son William one fourth of the tract of land whereon I now live to be divided agreeable to quantity and quality, also one feather bed and furniure to him and his heirs forever.

I give to my son, Lightfoot one other fourth part of my said tract of land to be divided as aforesaid and to be laid off so as to include all my said sons improvements of every kind whatever. Which improvements are not to be considered in the valuation of my said land to him and his heirs forever.

I give to my son Gilbert one other fourth part of my said tract of land to be divided as aforesaid and to be laid off on the north side of Pamunkey River and to include all my said sons improvements of every kind whatsoever which improvements are not to be considered in the valuation of my said land, also one feather bed without furniture to him and his heirs forever.

I give my daughter Catherine the remainng fourth part of my said tract of land to be divided as foresaid and to be laid off so as to include my present dwelling house and to be bounded by the river ont he river, on the north with a thoroughfare across mysaid tract of land from north to south with all other improvements on her fourth part of my said track of land, which improvements are not to be valued to her. I also give my said daughter Catherine all the residue of my estate of every kind whatsoever not before disposed of in this my last will to her and her heirs forever.

And lastly I nominate and appoint my neighbor Charles Quarles with my two sons William and Gilbert executor of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set myhand and seal this 8th day of February one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight.

At a Court held for Louisa county on the 10th day of February 1800 this will ws this day exhibited in opn Court by William Gibson one of the executors therein named and even proved by the oath of Charles Quarles and Charles Sprouse two of the witnesses thereto & by the Court admitted to record. And the said executor having made oath theeto according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probeit thereof in due form on his giving security whereupon he together with William Wash his security entered into and acknowledged his bond in the penalty one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs.

• Legal: division of the estate, 1800, Louisa County, VA. We the subscribers whose names are hereunto annexed, being mutually chosen by William, Gilbert,Lightfoot and Caty Gibson, sons and daughters and legatees of George Gibson deceased, to divide the land of said dec'd -- agreeable to this last will and testament have proceed to view said land and with the assistance of Samuel Harris, deputy surveyor hath divided and loted off the same in manner following.

To Lightfoot Gibson we assign Lot No. 1 beginning at a red oak in Chas. Quarles line then North 17 East to the river to a buttonwood on the banks thereof, thence with a line of marked trees to several saplins in the line of Wm. Michie's lands and containing fifty-three acres.

To Caty we assign Lot No. 2 beginning at a red oak standing in Chas. Quarles line and corner with Lightfoot. Then south sixty east with said Quarles line twenty two poles to several saplins in said line, thence with a line of marked trees north twenty four east of the river to three Sycamores on the bank of said river, thence of said river with its meanders to a buttonwood in Lightfoot's line of the banks of said river, then with said Lightfoot's line to the beginning and containing fifty-four acres.

To Gilbert was assign Lot 3 being the residue of the said Dec'd land lying on the north side of said river and containing fifty eight acres.

To William we assign all the residue of said dec'd land lying on the south side of said river and bounded by the said Caty on one side and William Michie on the other and containing forty seven acres. Given under our hands this the 10th day of April 1800.
