• Notes. There was a Jordan Gibson enumerated in the 1790 Wilkes Co, NC Census. Jordan bought land in Hawkins Co, TN on Feb. 4, 1835. He eventually bought at least 580 acres on Newmans Ridge. He was listed as Head of Household of 8 'fpc' on 1830 Hawkins Co census. Jordan apparently had a son named Jordan jr, so some of the land deeds may have been for the younger.
