Noted events in his life were: • Obituary: Northern New Salem Assoc, 1980, Knott County, KY. Combs, Oscar - Dad was the son of Kenis and Nannie (Gibson) Combs. Born March 3, 1894, he lived to be 79 years, four months and 27 days. Dad married Mae (Beverly) Combs in early life. God blessed them with nine children. The five living are four sons: Ray of Royalton, Ky, Blaine and Earl of Raven, Ky; and Glen Herald of Lisbon, Ohio and one daughter Mrs. Glen (Shirley) Sparkman of Raven, Knott County Kentucky. Four children preceded him in death. Dad has two sisters Minnie Thornsbury of Lagrange, Ohio and Martha Thornsbury of Raven, Kentucky and one brother Earl Combs of Raven, Kentucky surviving. He was such a good father and husband. We all miss him so much. Dad loved to go to church. He attended as long as he was able to go. He joined the Caney Fork church at Raven, Kentucky in Knott county the year of 1973.His son Glen Herald Combs of Lisbon, Ohio has followed in Dad's footsteps. He belongs to the Pleasant View Church on Beat Road, Litchfield, Ohio. If we children want to see Dad we had better start serving God, as Dad has told us to do. • Cemetery: Gibson Cemetery, 1973, Knott County, KY. 5 Oscar married Mae BEVERLY on 17 Feb 1923 in Knott County, KY.1 |
