• Obituary, 2003, OH. Charles M. Slone, age 79, resident of Buckeye Dr., Shelby died Friday, October 10, 2003 in University Hospitals, Cleveland. Born April 23, 1924 in Knott Co., Kentucky he was the son of the late Travis and Jane Slone. Mr. Slone was employed with the Ohio Seamless Tube as a crane operator.
Survivors include his wife, Martha (Combs) Slone; one son, Larry E. Slone of Shelby; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold Slone of Ashland, KY and Wayne and Barb Slone of Shelby; one sister and brother-in-law, Willa and Teddy Mitchell of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Lynn Slone in 1973; two brothers, Elmer and Onis Slone; and one sister, Ethel Tooker.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Monday in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby with Reverend Gary W. Hunt officiating. Friends may call the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby Sunday from 5-8PM.
