Bessie Gibson, age 92, passed away on Nov. 6,2008 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. She was born in Langley, Ky. on March 28, 1916. Her time on this earth was 92 years, 7 months, 9 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cody Gibson; stepdaughters, Ogie Johnson and Olga Millspaugh, and her son Daryl Gibson.
Surviving were her sons, Ellis Gibson, Everett Gibson, Ernest Gibson, Paul Gibson, Maynard Gibson, and Brewie Gibson. She also is survived by a daughter, Brenda Manchester.
Services were at the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky. on Nov. 9, 2008 with Old Regular Baptist preachers officiating. Burial followed at the Turner Cemetery in Dema
Bessie married William Cody GIBSON, son of Leonard GIBSON and Rhoda MARTIN, on 7 May 1932. (William Cody GIBSON was born on 2 Sep 1892 and died on 14 Sep 1973.)
